Boys Woodland Theme Nursery Inspiration

Boys Woodland Theme Nursery Inspiration

I have two little girls and I cannot tell you what a joy it is to design nurseries for the little boy I never got have. By far my favorite theme, and the one I would have chosen for my own son, is the Woodland Nursery!

This theme has endured the test of time, and for good reason. The colors are calming, the textures are rich, and the animals are adorable. Adding a modern geometric twist to the rustic forest theme keeps things fresh and fun.

This week I pulled together a few of my favorite woodland nursery décor pieces and paired them up with my bestselling set of four Woodland Nursery Prints with Bible verses

This set was absolutely inspired by the Holy Spirit. I started with the bear which I designed for a friend who was adopting a little boy, and then I got a nudge from the Lord to add a deer. The mountains and the forest prints completed it perfectly. I really do love this set! And it even comes in blue now!

This pillow though! I came across this on Etsy and I had to add it to this collection. I have such a soft spot for watercolor, and I love the touch of green softness this pillow adds.

This geometric wolf head brings a nice modern edge and some contrast to the softer tones of the watercolor prints and the pillow. I love mixing types and textures of wall decor and getting some 3D items up there.

This mountain shelf is just so stinking cute! Once again we're incorporating more geometric shapes to bring in the modern edge, but also keeping it organic with the mountain design. This would be perfect to hang little man's corduroy jacket or felt hat from wouldn't it?

And how sweet is this bedding? The little fox, owl and bear are just so huggable. And these neutral tones are really soothing. I like incorporating the animals into the bedding, because this theme can start looking a bit overboard with too many animals floating around the room, so I think this brings a nice balance.

You should definitely check out this blog post by Uniquely Taylor Made for more modern boys nursery inspo, but I pulled this photo specifically because I really like the way this forest green changing table anchors the room. It brings some depth, contrast, and color to this theme that I think is really charming.

I also really love the round mirror because it breaks up the geometric shapes we've got going and brings in the organic feel of unfinished wood. Did you catch the stick? I love that! I incorporate natural items in my decor quite often and I love the earthy rustic feel it brings a room.

So what do you think? Are you ready to dive in to decorating your little man's nursery? What other items would you include here? Let me know in the comments below!
